Travel more sustainable!

 

Organically cultivated food and vegetables are more and more common in India which is of great importance for the sustainability of the agriculture and the health of the farmers and the consumers. It also reduces poor farmers’ dependence on external inputs. Local organic markets can be found in some cities and bigger supermarkets do sometimes have a shelf with organic food. When buying fruits and vegetables, ask where they are cultivated. Often there are different kinds, some locally produced and some imported from other countries. Follow the season and eat the locally grown fruits!
