India is a country where vegetarianism is the norm and you find the most wonderful vegetarian dishes everywhere you go. The meat industry is a major carbon dioxide emissoner and India is the perfect place to start eating vegetarian food. Also vegans find it quite easy to travel in India, but should be cautious with tea (always served with milk), paneer (Indian cheese) and ghee.
